Skiing skill levels Guide

Assessing your or your child’s ability and skiing skill level is a challenge. But this is of crucial importance for booking the right ski course. For this reason we would like to support you and have listed some videos and additional information on the respective skill levels and developed a skiing skill level guide.

Please make sure that you do not overestimate yourself or your child, as this can negatively affect the learning process. We encourage you to have realistic expectations and make sure you or your child are attending the right course. This is the only way you can get the greatest possible benefit from the ski course and be successful and safe on the slopes.

Guide

J1-Beginner

In this course, the children learn the first steps of skiing. How do I put on my skis correctly and fit my ski boots? Balancing on skis will be trained, they will learn how to do a snow plough, and the children will also learn their first turns in the practicing area.

ZG - intermediate group:

In this group, the children have already mastered smaller runs in the practice area. How to use the pommel lift still has to be learned.

J2 - Snowplough turning

The children can safely ski down easy slopes (pommel lift) in snow plough with several turns.

J3 - alpine skiing posture / edging:

The participants are already skiing on longer blue slopes. During the traversing (between the turns), the children are already able to ski parallel. In this group, the kids use ski poles.

J4 - snowplough steering:

The children ski safely and quickly on blue and red slopes. The participants ski parallel during the traversing (between the turns), only in the turns the children use a small snowplough.

j5 - parallel steering (long turns):

Children in this group must be able to ski completely parallel (even during turns!) on all blue and red slopes. The skiing style of the children is quite fast. As a result of this group, the use of poles is also consolidated as well as the first experiences in powder snow are gained.

E1 - Beginner:

This group has never skied before. They start by learning the basics such as how to put on their equipment, balance on skis, how to control their speed and stop safely.

E2 - Turns in snowplough position:

The participants can safely ski down easy slopes (pommel lift) in snow plough and several turns.

E3 - Snowplough steering:

The participants are able to ski safely on blue and red slopes. During traversing (between the turns) the skis are parallel and only in the turns they are in a small snowplough position.

E4 - Parallel steering (long turns)

The participants in this group can already ski parallel on all blue and red slopes. They also make their first steps in deep snow.
