The Hochzeiger and Pitztal in the summer

From an adventurous, active holiday with the whole family to a relaxing wellness holiday – in Pitztal everyone gets their money’s worth!

Hochzeiger and Pitztal in summer

XP Park (high ropes courses)

With 6 parcours, the forest rope park is suitable for families, individuals, and even clubs or companies. The height level ranges from 0 to 12 m.

The XP Park is not only very popular with children, who are allowed to climb from a height of 0,90 m and 4 years old. Adults also enjoy taking on the challenges of the courses with different levels of difficulty and a height level of 0 to 12 m.

The absolute highlight in the XP Park is the “Flying Eagle Parcours”. This is a parcours that includes two zip lines over a gorge (approx. 50 m high). An authentic experience for all brave climbers.

The sun terrace and various seating options in the park also invite onlookers to spend a nice and cosy day in the XP Park.

Sport climbing on rocks & via ferratas

In Pitztal, there are also a variety of options for sport climbing on rocks or bouldering (indoor and outdoor).

Climbing is a wonderful sport that not only provides great overall body training but also challenges the mind. The climbing gardens in Pitztal offer both beginners and advanced climbers plenty of opportunities to challenge themselves.

It is a wonderful, indescribable feeling of happiness to have climbed a challenging climbing route or via ferrata and to be rewarded with a beautiful view.

For people who have always wanted to try sport climbing on rocks or climbing a via ferrata, the Alpin Center Hochzeiger-Pitztal offers the opportunity for climbing courses and guided via ferrata tours.

Rafting & Canyoning

It is also possible to experience whitewater sports, such as rafting and canyoning. Especially on hot summer days, a rafting tour on the Inn offers a refreshing change for young and old. Booking is available for rafting in a large inflatable boat for 8 to 10 people or in a small mini raft.

Another fascinating whitewater activity is canyoning. Perfectly equipped with a wetsuit, neoprene shoes, helmet, and climbing harness, … you “hike” together with your guide through the deep gorges of the Tyrolean Oberland.

HOCHZEIGER – the adventure mountain

The Hochzeiger is also an experience in summer!

The ZirbenPark with the ZirbenWasser, many ball runs, slides, exercise stations and a barefoot path offer the children a lot of variety and are a real alternative to hiking.

For the slightly older kids, their parents and other adults, the ZirbenCarts (mountain go-karts) offer an action-packed end to a beautiful hike.

The Hochzeiger also has a lot to offer for bike fans. Beginners can test and train their mountain bike skills in the rookie parcours at the middle station. Afterwards, two downhill trails await the daring downhill bikers.

The start point is at 2,500 m above sea level. You can comfortably reach this point with the Hochzeigerbahn 2.5 (chairlift). During the panoramic 11.5 km ride to the valley station (Steinbock Trail & Family Downhill Bike Trail), you will overcome more than 1,000 m of elevation gain.

During the summer, several large events occur on the Hochzeiger adventure mountain and the surrounding huts and alpine pastures. So it never gets boring.

Summer activity program

The tourism information office of Pitztal offers a diverse activity program for all guests who stay in accommodations in the valley and therefore have either the Pitztal Summer Card or the “Pitztaler Freizeitpass.”

It targets both the young and old and includes:

  • various hikes to waterfalls, mountain huts or sunrise hikes
  • rock climbing
  • mountain bike tours and downhill bike tours
  • glacier hikes
  • horse riding
  • trail running, and much more.

Paragliding

You can also enjoy the Pitztal from a bird’s-eye view! At the Alpin Center Hochzeiger-Pitztal, you can book gliding and thermal flights with a tandem paraglider. We recommend gliding flights for beginners, as thermal flights are much more turbulent and require previous experience. The prerequisite for tandem paragliding is a minimum age of 5 years and a weight between 20 to 100 kg.
