The offers of our trend sports centre
Our trend sports centre also offers non-classic skiers a wide range and various options for enjoying the snowy winter landscape. Is a winter holiday without skiing possible? The answer is yes!
1. Snowshoe hiking: Explore the magical nature in winter with snow shoes
Accompanied by our experienced hiking guides/ski instructors, you will discover the beautiful, snow-covered landscapes of the region. In our weekly trend sports program, we offer 2 different snowshoe hiking tours.
Start with the 1.5-hour tour on Tuesday and get the feeling of how to use and handle the equipment and how to “run in” comfortably. Towards the end of the week, we offer a longer snowshoe hiking tour of around 3 to 3.5 hours. Along the mountain ridge and surrounded by a breathtaking landscape, you walk together with the ski instructor from Hochzeiger to Sechszeiger. This snowshoe tour is also possible with a medium fitness level.
The snowshoes are included in the price of the tours and you get them at the meeting point – our trend sports centre. All you need is waterproof shoes (at least ankle-high), ski or hiking poles and clothing appropriate to the weather.
Please don’t forget the sunscreen and wear sunglasses to protect your eyes.
The movement in the snowy landscape and the fresh air ensure relaxation and let you forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
2. Ski touring: Unforgettable experiences away from the slopes
Ski touring is very trendy at the moment. This kind of soft tourism is a great way to actively experience the snowy mountains. With special touring skis and ski skins, it is possible to run up the mountains and then ski down.
Our weekly trend sports program offers a ski tour for beginners. In addition to the various ascent techniques, your ski guide/ski instructor gives you insights into the assessment of the avalanche situation and other alpine dangers.
A requirement for participation in the ski tour for beginners is safe skiing on red (intermediate) slopes. The necessary equipment (touring skis, ski skins and avalanche equipment) is included in the price. You only need ski poles, a ski helmet and maybe a small backpack with a water bottle.
Advanced or experienced persons can also book their own ski guide/ski instructor to do a guided ski tour to a peak in the region.
3. Snow bikes
Who remembers them, the “skibobs” from the past? In the meantime, this sports equipment has been further developed and now it’s called a snow bike. Our ski school owns some snow bikes and use them for group ski- or snowboard courses and also in private lessons.
This is a funny and easy-to-learn way to “unsafe” the slopes. Try out snow biking and contact us at the ski school office at the bottom station of the ski area Hochzeiger.
4. Hiking in winter
Hiking is not only beautiful in summer. Even in the winter months, this is a pleasant activity to forget the stress of everyday life and a simple way to „cool down“. The walk in the fresh air also helps you to relax.
You can get information about the numerous winter hiking trails in the ski school office at the bottom station of our ski area or the tourism information offices.
Conclusion – Winterholiday without skiing
These are just a few kinds of sports you can experience combined with classic skiing for a perfect and various winter holiday. We prefer a mixture of everything. We love skiing and snowboarding, but we also like to spend our time with snowshoe hiking or ski touring. A winter hiking tour in the evening is also a good way to end a beautiful, active winter day.
